Erica Rose

WRITER | DIRECTOR

Erica Rose (she/her) is an award-winning Brooklyn based writer and director with a focus on queer and female driven stories. She co-created, executive produced, and directed episodes for the ROKU ORIGINAL SERIES, THE LESBIAN BAR PROJECT, which is currently streaming. The series received a NY Emmy and a GLAAD Media Award. The series was honored at Brand Storytelling, a sanctioned event at The Sundance Film Festival, as one of the best brand sponsored series of 2022. The series is an adaptation from the award-winning short film of the same name that she directed. The Lesbian Bar Project short has over 1 billion impressions, has won two Webby’s and ANA awards, and was presented at The Library of Congress for the US Congress Equity Caucus. The film was nominated for the Tribeca X Award and was acquired by AMC + / Sundance TV for streaming. The project has been covered by The New York Times, NBC News, ABC News, CBS, PBS, The Cut, Reuters, Smithsonian Mag, them.us, the Today Show, among many other publications. Her directing work has screened at festivals internationally, including Academy Award-qualifying Tribeca Film Festival, Seattle International Film Festival, Rooftop Films, Outfest, Flickerfest, the Florida Film Festival, and the BAFTA-qualifying Iris Prize Festival. Her writing has been selected to participate in the Outfest Screenwriting Lab, the Middlebury Script Lab, and the Athena Script Lab. She was a finalist for THROUGH HER LENS: The Tribeca Chanel Women’s Filmmaker Program in both 2018 and 2020. She’s a 2022 grant recipient of the NYC Women's Fund for Media, Music, and Theatre. She has directed national commercials and branded documentaries for TCS New York City Marathon, EasyKnock, Parents Mag, and Effen Vodka. She’s directed music videos for Sony Music and others.

In addition, Erica recently directed a new comedy short film called LET LIV starring Christine Taylor, Rosaline Elbay, and Olivia Levine, which premiered at Tribeca Festival 2023. She’s in development for various other narrative and documentary television and film projects.
